February 22nd, 2010 Dear Listeners, It was a hard decision to make yet again, but a necessary one. After our recent acquisition with Ballerz Inc. there were a lot of decisions that had to be made, in regards to the continued operation of Killer Rock Radio.
Over the past few weeks, we've been seeing some significant hurdles that could determent our staff's well being, and the financial stability of our new parent company. So for now, it has been decided to halt further broadcasting until we handle some situations that could be major problems, including but not limited to renewing our music licensing arrangements with thousands of artists and royalty agencies. As of now, we don't have the financial backing to handle all the licensing expenses that would be incurred in our general operation, with our new parent company. So we are working to figure out the kinks, and avoid any legal troubles. We thank you as always for being loyal listeners to Killer Rock Radio, and want to remind you.. .this is not goodbye. We've had to do this before for other reasons, but this one is by far the most complex issue we've had to handle and avoid. We've had an interesting history, starting in 2003 as just a way to screw around after High School to what it has become, is well beyond what I could ever image, and I cannot thank all of you enough for making it such an enjoyable journey to this point. We went from millions of listeners in 2005 to site crash, and back online, only to go down for financial reasons, and then this time, for legal risk. We're a fighter... This is our game. We urge you to fan our page on Facebook to stay updated on the status of Killer Rock Radio. You can see our facebook page here. You can also follow me, the founder, the man, DJ Killer aka Christopher Clai at www.christopherclai.com and on Twitter at http://twitter.com/iampulse Artists, or advertisers interested in staying in contact or submitting their music, shoot an e-mail to rock@krradio.com and we'll get you taken care of. If there is anything I can tell you, it's this. As the founder of Killer Rock Radio, and being an internet DJ for 10 years, this is part of my life. Music has done so much for me, and has been essential in my life. I know that through Killer Rock Radio, I have made an impact in many of your lives from California to South America... Australia to Finland. Whether it was from rocking your day, getting your bands music out there, or giving others younger than me, inspiration to realize they can do what they want in life. I refuse to let this die, and it will return. A great man said "it will be hardest before you succed", and we realize that this is the final test, before we hit the American mainstream like no other broadcast station has. When we return, we will be relentless in our persuit of rock music, and breaking down the music industry. Follow us, and join us. The ride has just begun, because it's our game... and we're fighters... Until we return... Peace, DJ Killer |
